Obituary of Robert Augustin
Robert 'Bob' George Augustin was born September 9, 1933, in Mulligan Township, Brown County to Louis and Clara (Eckstein) Augustin. He was united in marriage to Angela Goblirsch on February 8, 1954, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Bob served with the U.S. Army from 1955-57 and following his Honorable Discharge, returned to Mulligan Township where he farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Church of Japanese Martyrs Catholic Church, the Holy Family Society, the Farmer's Union, and served as a Mulligan Township officer. Bob served for many years as a baseball manager and umpire. He enjoyed farming and especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
Robert 'Bob' Augustin died Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center at the age of 84.
He is survived by wife Angela; children- Debra (James) Gorres and their children Kelly Gorres (John May), Shannon Gorres (Todd Wyant), and Brittany Gorres-Martens (Joshua Martens); Brian (Kim) Augustin and children Jarrod Augustin and Bria Voigt; Bradley (Debra) Augustin and their children Jamie (Tony) Case, Joshua (Kellie) Augustin, and JoBeth (Brad) Kratz, Nancee (Dave) Riebel and their children Amber Riebel (Andy Nadler) and Terry (Misty) Riebel, and Kurt (Cathy) Augustin and their children Katie Augustin and Ryan (Katrina) Augustin; 21 great-grandchildren, ; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law- Mariann Treml, Sylvan Goblirsch, Beatrice Goblirsch, and Stanley Goblirsch. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Diane Lynn in 1957, brothers and sisters- Urban, Etlebert, Delrose (Moldan), Joseph, Leo, Sylvia (Mangen), and Russell and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law- Clarence, Janette, and Jane
