Noel Vincent Conrad was born November 20, 1928, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, MN to Walter and Laura (Flage) Conrad. He went to country school for 8 years then helped his father with farming. Noel enlisted with the U.S. Army on February 16, 1951, and was honorably discharged on February 12, 1953. On October 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Pauline Eldredge. To this union were born 6 children. Noel farmed as a crop sharer until he bought the family farm. Pauline passed away in 1975 and Noel was united in marriage to Joanne (Moos) Ben in 1979. The couple lived on the farm until selling it and moving to Slayton. Noel became ill on July 15, 2018, and was in the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls until his passing on August 28, 2018. He was a member of Andrew Peterson American Legion Post #41 in Lamberton and enjoyed farming, his grandchildren's sporting events, the Spencer Fair, and camping.
He is survived by his wife Joanne; children- Kathy, Cindy, Nancy, and Brad; step-children- Laura, Becky, Keith, and Sarah; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister Lois. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Pauline; 2 daughters; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.
