Wilmer Heide, age 85, of Mountain Lake passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN.
Wilmer Jacob Heide was born September 28, 1933 on the family farm outside Mountain Lake in Cottonwood County, the son of Jake and Elizabeth (Dick) Heide. He grew up on the family farm, baptized May 15, 1949 at Bethel Mennonite Church, attended school through the eighth grade. He married Ann MaJean Harder on September 1, 1956 at First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. They made their home on the family farm north of Butterfield where they raised their three daughters. Wilmer farmed his entire career, he was also an Asgrow Seed dealer for many years. During his retirement he kept busy with his woodworking and wood carving projects. They enjoyed wintering in south Texas.
Wilmer is survived by his wife Ann MaJean Heide, daughters; Marlys (Jim) Nickel, Marilyn (Jerome) Stoesz, grandchildren; Andrew (Sara) Nickel, David (Laura) Nickel, Angela (Mike) Hall, Thomas Nickel, Jordan (Emily) Stoesz, and Jayne (Brian) Swanson, siblings (Sharon)Heide, Heide (Jerry) Erskine, Ellen Jean (Pete) Zielenski, Diane (Roy) Farley, Kermit (Carol) Heide, Loretta (Jim) Hagen, Eldon Heide, and Richard Heide. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Del (Kay) Harder and by nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death his daughter Mavis Julene Heide, granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth Stoesz, his parents and brother Harold Heide.
