David Albert Anderson was born on May 29, 1941, to Theodore and Florence (Frederiksen) Anderson at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, MN. David was a life-long resident of rural Springfield. He attended Country School District #65 and graduated from Springfield Public School in 1959. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. On August 24, 1963, David was united in marriage to Janice Nelsen in Westbrook. The couple later divorced. David was a farmer for many years. He owned and operated Anderson Auto Sales and hauled hogs for Schwartz Farms. David enjoyed hunting geese, deer, and prairie dogs, riding motorcycle and socializing with neighbors and friends. He attended every NASCAR race at Texas Speedway from its opening for 15 years running. David also liked trap shooting and was on Gary Green’s trap shooting team, which competed at the Darfur Sportsman Club.
David Anderson age 78, of Springfield, MN died on June 30, 2019, at his home in rural Springfield.
He is survived by children - Lynn (Nancy) Anderson, Kristin (Greg) Wersal, Jennifer (Todd) Smetana, and Mackenzie Anderson; grandchildren - Joshua Anderson, Jacob (Laura) Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Dustin Wersal, Haidee Wersal (fiancé AJ Larson), Kylie Wersal, Addison Smetana, and Brielle Smetana; brother - James (Susan) Anderson; sisters - Karen (Peter) Eller and Kay (Delbert) Pingeon. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Grant Anderson in 1976.
