Della Marie Fobes was born in Carroll, IA to William "Bill" and Henrietta (Kamper) Fobes on October 27, 1930. She attended country school through 8th grade and then attended Calmer High School, where she graduated. She attended some college before entering 3 yrs of nurses training at Kahler School of Nursing. She met and married LeRoy "Lee" Byro on May 24, 1952. She then worked for the Madelia Hospital. Later, she became owner of Byro's Clothing Store and Handy Cash. In the late 1970's, she returned to nursing at the Luther Memorial Home, followed by the Madelia Hospital in the late 1980's, where she worked until her retirement in 1992. Della Marie (Fobes) Byro, age 89, of Madelia, MN passed away peacefully on February 4, 2020 at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia. Della is survived by her children, Rodney Byro, Kathy Boutwell, Jim Byro, Sue Miller, Ken (Lori) Byro; grandchildren, Teresa (Ryan) Davis, Joann Boutwell, Laura (Preston) Roloff, Connor Byro (special friend, Blair VanZee), Taylor Byro, Skylor Byro; great-grandchildren, Keyan, Aryanna and Henry Roloff, Griffin and Josslyn Davis; exchange daughters, Roseanne Parker and Kjersti Bringedal; brother-in-law, Bob Byro, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Byro; infant son, Billy; infant daughter, Becky; parents, Bill and Henrietta Fobes; brother, Hoyt Fobes; sister-in-law, Joyce Fobes; parents-in-law, John and Bertha Byro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Helen Byro, Irvin and Bonnie Byro and Carol Byro.
