Obituary of Lorraine Christensen

Lorraine Ethel Christensen, age 90 formerly of Comfrey died on Monday, July 13, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN. Lorraine (Kleinow) Christensen was born on December 19, 1924, to William and Martha (Brown) Kleinow. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. After the Comfrey tornado in 1998, she a charter member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She attended Comfrey Public School and helped her parents on the farm. Lorraine was united in marriage to Herbert Christensen on September 10, 1946. She continued to work on the farm with chores and worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and crocheting. The coffee pot was always on with bake goods. She is survived by her son - David (Markay) Christensen of Springfield; grandchildren - Ryan and Eric Christensen both of Springfield; a sister - Helen Ewert of Janesville, MN; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Herbert in 1985; and her brothers - Charlie, Martin, and Edward.
