Obituary of Diane Pearl Runck
Diane Runck was born September 24, 1929, in Springfield, MN to Clarence and Ursula (Bellig) Hammett. She grew up in Redwood County and graduated from Springfield High School. On October 4, 1947, Diane married Lowell Runck in Minneapolis. Diane and Lowell lived on a farm west of Springfield for 65 years where they raised 3 children. Diane enjoyed farming and the dairy business alongside of her husband, spending time with her family, gardening and traveling. She also enjoyed sewing, canning, playing cards and crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Diane Runck died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by husband Lowell; daughter Susan (James) Anderson; sons- Bruce (Sandy) Runck, and Philip (Kelly) Runck; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother Clarence Hammett, Jr. of Minneapolis; sister Autumn Deane (Bob) Meindl of Breckenridge; sister-in-law Diane (John) Ohlemann of Oakdale; brothers-in-law- Tony Hoffmeister of Phoenix, AZ, and Dennis (Nina) Runck of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild Daniel; sister Cheryl Hoffmeister; sisters-in-law- Phyllis Hammett, and Elaine Olson Erickson; and brothers-in-law- Ron Olson, and Ken Erickson.
