Rose Lee was a strong Christian woman who the Lord took peacefully home on February 3, 2016.
Rose Lillie Lee was born on the family farm in Burnstown Township, Brown County on March 15, 1933, to Alfred and Gertie (Sorensen) Kirschstein. She was baptized at the Methodist parsonage and confirmed at the Springfield United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member. After graduating from Springfield High School, Rose worked at Forester Furniture. She was united in marriage to Ken 'Bucky' Lee on May 18, 1953. The couple purchased Springfield Lanes in 1969 and Rose was a dedicated partner in the bowling business and an active member of the Women's Bowling Association. She had many interests but mainly enjoyed flower gardening and arranging. Rose was a member of the Springfield Garden and Hobby Club, and had won many awards including Grand Champion with her arrangements. As a member of the United Methodist Church, Rose was active as a Sunday School teacher, served as Superintendent, a UMW member, and many other organizations in church. She enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, fancy work, baking cookies and decorating cakes for others, and visiting with Homestead residents, family, and her many friends.
She is survived by daughter Barb and husband Duane Tomschin of Springfield; sister Fern and husband Walter Meine of Springfield; her dearly loved church family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Ken 'Bucky' Lee in 2004.
