Obituary of Vera M. Renner

Elvera M. Renner “Grandma Vera” was born on February 20, 1915, in Stately Township, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Brown) Puchta. She attended district #71 in Stately Township. Vera was united in marriage to Ervin Renner on November 30, 1933 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. She worked at the elevator as a cleaning lady and later worked for Woehrmann’s Café and Kopel’s Café . She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Vera enjoyed being a homemaker and was very proud of her garden, home, and yard. She enjoyed baking, family events, and watching Dancing with the Stars. Grandma Vera died on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 101. She is survived by her grandsons – Steve (Jane) Beyer of Mesa, AZ and Clayton (Deb) Beyer of Springfield, MN; great grandchildren – Katie (Travis) Schultz, Kris (Chris) Johnson, Kelsey (special friend - Matt) Beyer, Nathan Beyer, Kelly (John) Meyer, Ramsey (Lindsey) Beyer, and Ryan (special friend – Julia) Beyer; great great grandchildren – Brynne, Braxy, and Jameson Meyer, Kendall and Kylie Beyer, Abigale Schultz, and Jameson and Jaxon Johnson; son-in-law – Maynard (Sharon) Beyer of Sanborn; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Vera is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ervin in 1983; daughter Lois Beyer in 1992; her siblings – Melvin, Verda, Gilbert, Lucille, Gertrude, and baby brothers in infancy.
