Obituary of Alphonse L. Walter
Alphonse Walter was born May 13, 1943 to Leo and Anna (Guetter) Walter in Springfield. Al lived in New Ulm for some time and then moved to St. James where he worked for Tony Downs. He enjoyed following sports, especially the New York Yankees and was known for his knowledge of sports stats, fishing, playing cards, and trips to the casino. Al thoroughly enjoyed time with his family, he loved his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and watching their activities. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his brothers - Norbert (Patricia) Walter of Arlington, TX, Eugene (Karen) Walter of St. James, Tim (Angie) Walter of Roseville; sisters - Rose (Linus) Nachreiner of New Ulm, Mary (Patrick) Portner of New Ulm, Rita Meine of Springfield, Lucy (Douglas) Sondag of Springfield, Donna (Dennis) Myers of Spicer, Linda Richter of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Al is preceded in death by his parents - Anna and Leo Walter, brother Raymond; brothers-in-law - James Meine and Alan Richter; and nephew Nathan Richter.
