Obituary of Thomas Krzmarzick
Tom Krzmarzick, a devoted family man and lover of the outdoors, passed away with family nearby at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on Jan. 18, 2019 after a courageous battle with several medical issues.
Tom was born Nov. 19, 1952. Tom loved riding horses with his older brother Leo and working on his family's farm in Sleepy Eye as a child. He graduated in 1970 from St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye, and earned a business degree from North Dakota State University in 1975 after spending time at the University of Minnesota and in baking school. While at the U of M, he met Lynn Peterson, and the two began a marriage of more than 44 years on June 8, 1974. They settled in West Fargo, N.D., where they raised their son Mac and daughter Marissa while Tom began a 30-plus year career in office management for excavating and construction companies. Tom and Lynn moved to Savannah, Georgia in 2007, before returning to Minnesota in 2013. Whether he was baking cakes for birthday parties, coaching his kids' teams or grilling burgers at reunions, Tom delighted in serving his family. He was quick with a laugh, an encouraging word, an offer to help or a shoulder to cry on. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan who developed a love of Georgia football from his time in Savannah
Tom is survived by his wife, Lynn Krzmarzick: son, Mac (Jackie) Krzmarzick; daughter, Marissa (Ben) Goessling; granddaughters: Lydia and Greta Goessling; sister, Donna Krzmarzick; brothers: Paul and Ron Krzmarzick; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roman and Dorothy Krzmarzick; brother, Leo Krzmarzick; sister-in-law, Cheryl Krzmarzick and nephew Matthew Krzmarzick.
The family welcomes flowers or donations in Tom's honor to St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye.
