Obituary of Lois Mary Tauer

Lois Mary Tauer, age 78, of Sleepy Eye MN passed away peacefully on Dec 18, 2020 with loved ones by her side at St John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield. Lois was born on Nov 11, 1942 to Walter and Mildred (Braulick) Haala of Leavenworth. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 49 years Timothy Tauer. Daughters: Sheila (Dan) Beltz, Sherri (Dean) Braun, Stacie (Brent) Amsden and son Scott (Karen) Krebsbach, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and sisters Linda Schwerzler, LeAnn (Tom) Hale, LaVonn (Larry) Braun and Lori (Leon) Braun and brother Gary (Judy) Haala. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Sharlene Krebsbach. Lois was an active member of St Mary’s Catholic Church. Lois worked at Del Monte, Advertising Unlimited (now BIC Graphic) and Countryside Retirement Community before retiring. She enjoyed old time music and dancing. Lois and Tim made multiple trips to Branson MO to take in the shows and traveled with the Wendinger Band. Lois had a deep love for family and enjoyed the many gatherings and attending many of their sporting events. Lois bowled for many years on the Lucky Ladies League. Lois and Tim spent many hours in their garden during the summer months. Lois was always up for a game of sheep head with her friends or a trip to Jackpot Junction for a day of slots. In her later years Lois enjoyed puzzles, decorating dish towels and several TV shows including The Price is Right, Young and the Restless and old westerns. Lois lived life to the fullest and was a survivor of multiple cancers over the years. She had the will to survive and fought to the bitter end. She was our Hero: an ordinary individual who found the strength to persevere and endure in spite of her overwhelming obstacles. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at the SE Hospital, Rochester Mayo Hospital and St John’s Lutheran Home for their amazing care and support during Lois’ last few weeks of life. The funeral will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/stmarysleepyeye/videos
