Norman Penner, age 75, of St. James passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
A private family service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Rev. Grant Fischer officiating.
Burial will follow at First Mennonite Cemetery in Butterfield.
Norman Henry Penner was born to Henry and Sarah (Quiring) Penner on July 15, 1945. Norman accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized when he then joined the First Mennonite Church north of Butterfield, MN. He married the love of his life Kathleen Schmidt on June 15, 1984.
With his wife of 36 years, Norman enjoyed raising cattle, farming, using his Bobcat, and restoring antique tractors with his Godson, John. He had a passion for reading and woodworking. His appreciation of the outdoors included wildlife, bird watching, and going on car rides with Kathy so she could take pictures of the wild life. He loved all the time he could spend with his Godchildren (Justin, John, Mandy) and their families.
Survived by his wife Kathleen (Kathy) Penner and his sister Kathryn Penner. Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Sarah Penner
