Obituary of Bernadette Marie Mogler

Bernadette (Bernie) Mogler age 96, of Mountain Lake, MN and formerly of Darfur, died on June 3, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society-The Village, Mountain Lake. Bernadette Marie Mogler was born April 28, 1925 to Wilfred and Alexcina (Mailhot) Burton in New Haven, CT. Bernie attended St. Louis Catholic School until the eighth grade. On February 19, 1944, she married Maynard Mogler, of Badger, SD, while he was serving in the Navy Submarine Service. They married in New Haven. Bernie and Maynard moved to Darfur in 1945 and together were blessed with five children. Bernie worked in the family implement business for 30 years. She served on the city council for 9 years, and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary for 61 years. Bernie was an active gardener and active in the garden club and other community affairs. She will be remembered by many for her garden goodies and sewing quilts for others. Bernadette is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maynard; son, Robert Mogler; daughter, Barbara Samuelson; three sisters, seven brothers, and many old friends. She is survived by daughters, Rosemary (Bob) Smith, of Mountain Lake, Terry Blume of New Ulm; son, Tim (Julie) Mogler, of Las Vegas, NV and nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. One brother Francis Burton also survives.
