Obituary of Noel Clipperton
Noel was born to his parents Athelstan Ira Clipperton and Ellen Madie Kruse on the home farm South of Butterfield, MN. Where he attended school in Butterfield and graduated in 1959. While in school he played football, was an active member in 4-H and FFA. From 1959 to 1962 Noel stayed on the farm and helped farm 40 acres of his dad’s land and raised livestock, with his dog Ceasar. Noel met Lois, the love of his life, when he was 11 and she was 7. They started courting in 1961 and dated until they married on July 26th, 1963. Noel and Lois resided in Limestone, Maine until 1966. In 1962 Noel joined the Air Force, attending Basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Noel then went to Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Colorado for his technical schooling and then to Loring Air Force Base in Limestone Maine for the duration of his enlistment where he became an active member of the Limestone Fire Dept. Noel and Lois moved back to St. James, MN where he started working as an electricians apprentice eventually getting his Master A License while working for Sam’s Electric. He worked for Sam’s Electric for 19 years, then for Westons Automotive for 22 years. During this time, he also served on the St. James Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years holding the position of Assistant Fire Chief and Training Officer. Noel retired in 2006 and moved to Butterfield, MN and worked for the city of Butterfield part time till 2010. Noel, a man of many talents, loved working in his garden and flowerbeds, and feeding the birds.
Preceded in death by parents - A.I. and Ellen Clipperton, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and one Son-in-law. Survived by his wife Lois, children Timothy Clipperton, Mavis (John) JoRay, Jason (Molly) Clipperton, Steven (Janet) Clipperton, Jennifer (Jaren Smith) Coult, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
